Abeo Natura is a typeface I designed to emulate
a jigsaw puzzle. The name "Abeo Natura" is
translated as abeo meaning to digress, change
vanish or disappear, and Natura which means
nature in Latin. Literally translated both names
mean a change in nature. Initially, each letter
was supposed to fit together, so that the user
could form words and have them slot together
like a jigsaw puzzle. But this proved to be too
difficult. So, I decided to make the letters take
on the qualities of jigsaw puzzle. This can be
seen when you look at the counters of the
letters. The counters are the typical shapes
that you would find in a jigasaw puzzle. Below
are the applications the typeface has. It is
meant for children aged 4-10. The smaller
box is meant to be a minature toy chest.
Within the toy chest are: magnets, children
could stick to their refrigerators.
